Callie Garp from FabulouslyFeminist uses handmade printing blocks to create these stickers to speak out about rape culture. Her art for social justice began as Project: Rise Above Rape Culture , a project meant ” to give voice to experiences, feelings, and personal truths about a subject that is all too often heard only in whispers and read about only in sensationalized news articles. We seek to give voice to a shared solidarity between all people empowered to rise above the culture that tells us talking about sexual assault is wrong. We are rising in solidarity to change the way we view, think and talk about sexual assault – and that means we must also stand aware, of the good, the bad and the terribly ugly.”
On the Etsy shop, each sticker has a fully articulated artist’s statement about the motivation and sentiment behind the design. There’s also LGBT -supportive designs, too! Nice.
